Itinerary
  • Stellenbosch Winelands

Human hand pouring white orange or rose wine from bottle to glass during party over table with various gourmet snacks cheese grape bread. Gathering, celebrating, wine tasting and party concept

Just 20 minutes from Cape Town, the rolling vineyards of Stellenbosch open into a landscape worlds apart from the Cape Peninsula—oak-lined avenues, dramatic mountains, and centuries-old wine estates. Here, you’ll be introduced to signature grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and South Africa’s proudly homegrown Pinotage, while learning about Méthode Cap Classique—the region’s celebrated sparkling wine that rivals the finest French champagnes.

Beyond the vineyards, Stellenbosch buzzes with youthful energy, thanks to its renowned university and vibrant cultural scene. Discover wine cellars, museums, art galleries, and seasonal delights like strawberry picking. You’ll also have time to purchase exceptional local wines—perfect souvenirs to relive the flavours of the Cape long after your journey ends.

  • Franschhoek

Next, we journey into Franschhoek, a true wine lover’s paradise affectionately known as “the French Corner.” Founded by French Huguenots, this historic valley blends European elegance with African soul. Tree-lined streets and wine estates bearing French names transport you to another era—one of refinement, calm, and timeless charm.

Here, indulge in the region’s finest wines, artisanal cheeses, and gourmet delicacies, all set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and rolling vineyards. A highlight of the day is the iconic Franschhoek Wine Tram—a unique and leisurely way to explore award-winning wine farms while soaking in breathtaking scenery.

As a special touch, our professional guides are fluent in both English and French, adding depth and authenticity to this memorable experience.

  • Drakenstein Prison

SANTIAGO, CHILE - NOV 29, 2018: Wine degustation in Concha y Toro Mansion and Vineyard.

Situated between Franschhoek and Paarl, Drakenstein Prison (formerly Victor Verster Prison) holds a powerful place in South Africa’s history. It was here that Nelson Mandela spent the final 14 months of his imprisonment before walking to freedom in February 1990—an event that changed the course of a nation.

Today, you’ll see the striking, larger-than-life statue of Madiba with his raised fist—a symbol not of anger, but of resilience, unity, and hope. The gesture is famously linked to the rallying cry “Amandla Awethu”—power to the people. This poignant stop offers a moment of reflection and connection to South Africa’s journey toward freedom.

  • Paarl

Monument in Paarl in the Western Cape Province of South Africa commemorating the development of the Afrikaans language

The journey continues with a scenic drive around Paarl, framed by the impressive Paarl Mountain and its surrounding vineyards. As you take in the views, your guide will share stories of the town’s rich past—from its founding by Dutch settlers in the 17th century to its role as one of South Africa’s oldest and most influential wine regions.

The name “Paarl,” meaning “pearl” in Dutch, was inspired by the glowing granite rock formations that shimmer in the sunlight. Beyond its natural beauty, Paarl also holds historical significance in South Africa’s struggle for freedom, with insights into its role during the Apartheid era. Enjoy a photo stop at Drakenstein (Victor Verster) Prison, a powerful landmark along the route.
